Editorial methodology
How we choose.
A disciplined separation of verified facts, practical architectural judgment, and commercial information.
01 · The selection
Start with the room, not the product feed.
Each Edit begins with the architectural and practical questions a category creates: proportion, use, installation, maintenance, material, and the way an object relates to the room around it. Products are selected because they clarify useful ways forward—not because a retailer pays more or a brand offers a relationship.
02 · The labels
Editorial terms have specific jobs.
Architect's Pick
The selection that most fully expresses the Edit's architectural judgment for the stated use. It is a point of view, not a claim that one product is universally best.
Sergio's Take
Authored commentary explaining why a product works, where it falls short, or what tradeoff matters. It is kept distinct from specifications and retailer claims.
03 · Exactness
The approval belongs to the exact product.
Model numbers, variants, finishes, and relevant configurations are frozen wherever product-specific claims are made. A visually similar item is not treated as the same item. A manufacturer's successor model does not automatically inherit the editorial approval, claims, or conclusion of the model it replaces; it must be evaluated on its own evidence.
04 · Claims
Say only what the sources support.
- Specifications are attached to the exact model and source record.
- Country-of-origin and manufacturing language stays conservative when brand origin, components, assembly, and manufacture are not the same claim.
- Prices are observations tied to a retailer, exact item, currency, and verification date—not promises of a current or typical price.
- Availability is not described as live unless an authorized source supports it.
05 · Commerce
Editorial judgment comes first.
Affiliate availability and compensation do not decide inclusion, order, labels, or conclusions. Non-affiliate products and retailers may be included when they serve the reader. Commercial relationships are labeled when they exist, and factual product evaluation remains independent of them.
The publication may earn a commission from some future links. No current affiliate relationship is implied unless it is specifically verified and disclosed.
